A team of riders from Jesters Flat competed in an Australian Stock Horse Society (ASHS) Gymkhana at Dardanup Equestrian Centre recently.
It was the first time that some of the Jesters Flat breed of Stock Horses have been out in the competitive world, and they did exceedingly well!
They all competed in the Maiden Division of the event hosted by the local South West branch of the ASHS.
Next time we’ll be heading into the Open Division events!
So…. the tally was:
Paul riding Jesters Flat Greer; First in the flag and bending races, 2nd in the barrel race and 2nd in the time trial.
Tom riding Jesters Flat Mackellar (owned by Rosie Sheedy); 3rd in the time trial, 3rd jumping, 2nd sack race, 2nd flag race.
Em Maulion riding Willow; 3rd in the keyhole, 3rd in the barrel and bending races, 4th jumping and 6th time trial.
Em Res riding El Dorado; 4th in the 60cm jumping.
Leah riding Boy (owned by Mardi West); First in the barrel race, 1st in the time trial,1st in the 40 and 60cm jumps and 4th in the Stock Horse working pattern.
Em Res and Alice also rode Jesters Flat Gibbs, who performed beautifully in all her events, but didn’t place this time!
Well done to all the riders and their mounts and thanks to the ASHS SW branch for a well run event!
