Jesters Flat

About Us

Jesters Flat is a working equestrian farm and vineyard in the charming region of Rosa Brook, 18 km east of Margaret River. We have a varied group of beautiful horses, generally Australian Stock Horses, with a horse for everyone, from the tiniest pony to the strongest working horse.

Horse riding tours are available every day except Thursday, with a large range of tours and activities to suit all abilities, from the absolute beginner to the accomplished eventer.

Why is it called Jesters Flat?

The equestrian centre is named after Jester, our first great Australian Stock Horse. Jester's polocrosse career began in 1977, and just a year later he played his first tournament in Margaret River, winning the A Grade cup, and went on to play at the Royal Perth Show, where he was awarded Champion Polocrosse Horse by the Margaret River Club.

From 1978 to 1986 Jester won 35 A Grade cups, competed in four National Titles, and took out nine Fairest and Best awards. He also won the horse section of the Blackwood Marathon in 1982 and finished second in the Woodaburrup Cup at the Scott River races. Jester loved to compete and never wanted to be left behind.

The paddock, or flat, that was home to Jester is now Jesters Flat Equestrian and Vineyard.
